In any enterprise, teamwork is essential to ensure that everyone on the team is able to contribute their knowledge, experience and talents to the full.
To promote and develop team working, Cadbury employees undertake environmental team challenges with organisations such as the National Trust and the Wildlife Trusts. These team days provide the opportunity for people to learn new skills including working as a team to achieve goals.
Individuals often play different roles within a team. Dr R Meredith Belbin, a famous management consultant, identified nine different roles people could play in a team. Teams work best when there are a good balance of these roles:

- The Resource Investigator
- The Coordinator
- The Shaper
- The Monitor
- The Team Worker
- The Implementer
- The Completer
- The Specialist
