introduction
What is marketing?
Television advertisements? Billboard posters? Attractive packaging? Press coverage? Online?
In fact it’s all of those things and much more.
Marketing is the means by which a business identifies, anticipates and then satisfies customer demand. If carried out effectively marketing will not only ensure that a business is seen and heard but will give the business flexibility to adapt to changing customer demands and a changing business environment.
One business area that is constantly reviewed by companies is their marketing mix – how the four Ps of marketing; product, place, price and promotion are combined to sell a product or service. Deciding the marketing mix is essential when developing new products.
When the marketing mix is right, a company can plan a promotion for the right product, at the right price, and to get it to their chosen market, in the right place.
